M鈥機HIGEENG鈥擜 fire destroyed a vacant house in the M鈥機higeeng First Nation.聽
Andrew Corbiere, M鈥機higeeng fire chief explained the fire took place on the morning of Wednesday, August 14. 鈥淚t was an older abandoned vacant home.鈥澛�
Fire Chief Mr. Corbiere said the fire department had received a call of the fire at 4:40 am at a house at 217 Hill Street in the community. 鈥淣o definitive cause for the fire has been determined and there were no injuries reported. We conducted a search along with the UCCM Police Service and everything was clean. The investigation is ongoing.鈥�
The fire was extinguished at approximately 6:30 am on August 14 by firefighters.
